CONFEDERATION OF KERALA SAHODAYA COMPLEXES

The Confederation of Kerala Sahodaya Complexes is an independent association of Sahodaya School Complexes across the state of Kerala. It functions as a common platform for collaboration, professional exchange, and shared advancement among CBSE affiliated schools.

Registered under the Travancore Cochin Literary, Scientific and Charitable Societies Registration Act No. 22 of 1955, the Confederation operates in alignment with the academic, ethical, and regulatory framework of the Central Board of Secondary Education. It exists to strengthen schools, not control them, and to enable dialogue, not dictate direction.

Established in 2006, the Confederation was formed with a simple belief: that schools grow better when they grow together. The word Confederation itself represents this idea — an alliance of institutions that retain their individuality while working towards shared educational goals. Over the years, this alliance has evolved into a trusted space where school leaders and educators meet, reflect, learn, and build.

The Confederation facilitates collaboration in areas such as leadership development, teacher professional learning, academic enrichment, student engagement, and institutional capacity building. Through conferences, training programmes, mentoring sessions, academic initiatives, and consultative forums, it supports schools in responding thoughtfully to educational change while remaining rooted in strong values.

The Confederation stands for trust, cooperation, professional integrity, and the belief that meaningful education is built through dialogue, reflection, and shared effort. It exists to serve schools, support educators, and ultimately enrich the learning experience of every child in the CBSE ecosystem of Kerala.

The All Kerala CBSE Principals’ Conference is a prestigious event organized by the Confederation of Kerala Sahodaya Complexes (CKSC). This biennial gathering brings together Principals and academic leaders of CBSE schools across Kerala to deliberate on the evolving landscape of school education. The conference serves as a platform to share best practices, discuss innovative teaching methodologies, strengthen collaboration among schools, and shape policies for the betterment of CBSE education in the state. It also offers opportunities for networking, leadership development, and creating a collective vision for the future of schooling.

All Kerala CBSE State Kalotsav
CBSE State Kalotsav is an experience that helps students grow as individuals. While classrooms strengthen knowledge and academics, Kalotsav provides a platform where children can express their creativity, emotions, and imagination. For many students, it becomes the stage where they discover their talent and gain the confidence to showcase it before others. In Kerala, the State Government organizes similar cultural festivals for state schools, giving students from those schools a wide stage to celebrate their gifts. However, CBSE students do not automatically receive such an opportunity. It is here that the Confederation of Kerala Sahodaya Complexes plays a vital role. By organizing the CBSE State Kalotsav, it ensures that students from affiliated schools also get a stage equal in scope and spirit to present their talents. Without this effort, many CBSE students would be left without a common cultural platform of this scale. The importance of Kalotsav lies in the lessons it teaches beyond the competition. Preparing for events calls for dedication, discipline, and time management. Performing before an audience develops confidence and courage, while learning to accept both success and failure gracefully builds resilience. In this way, Kalotsav nurtures qualities that last well beyond school years. The festival also promotes collaboration. Group events bring students together, teaching them to cooperate, share responsibility, and value teamwork. These experiences enrich friendships and prepare children for the cooperative world they will face in higher education and professional life. Cultural identity and heritage are equally strengthened. Through music, dance, theatre, and literature, students connect with tradition while experimenting with creativity. They begin to value diversity and develop pride in cultural roots, realizing that knowledge is not confined to books but also carried in stories, performances, and art forms. Most importantly, Kalotsav introduces the idea of healthy competition. Unlike some exams that measure one kind of success, Kalotsav celebrates many forms of excellence. Every participant, whether they win or not, walks away with learning, exposure, and the joy of self-expression. For CBSE students, the Kalotsav organized by the Confederation is a festival. It is a bridge that ensures they are not excluded from a cultural movement that has shaped generations of learners in the state. It affirms that talent deserves a platform and that every child should have the chance to rise and be seen.

Sahodaya School Achievement Survey (SSAS)
A School Achievement Survey, aligned with the framework of the PARAKH Rashtriya Sarvekshan, is in the pipeline. This initiative aims to assess learning outcomes across key stages and subjects, providing a clear picture of students’ conceptual understanding, skills, and competencies. The survey will help schools identify strengths and learning gaps, guiding data-driven strategies for improvement. By aligning with PARAKH Rashtriya Sarvekshan, the School Achievement Survey ensures standardization and comparability of results while allowing contextual adaptation to local needs. It emphasizes not only academic proficiency but also the application of knowledge in real-life situations. The findings will serve as valuable feedback for teachers, school leaders, and Sahodayas to strengthen instructional practices and improve the overall quality of education.

All Kerala Common Model Examination
The Confederation of Kerala Sahodaya Complexes (CKSC) conducts the All Kerala Common Model Examinations for students of Grades 10 and 12 every year. These examinations are designed strictly in accordance with the latest patterns and guidelines of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), ensuring students receive authentic practice and exposure ahead of their board examinations. This initiative is a free-of-cost service extended to all participating schools under the Sahodaya network, reflecting CKSC’s commitment to academic excellence and equitable support for all learners. The question papers are meticulously prepared by highly experienced and qualified subject experts who possess a deep understanding of the CBSE curriculum and assessment standards. This ensures that the papers are balanced, comprehensive, and aligned with the competencies expected at the board level. The examinations not only provide students with valuable practice under real exam conditions but also help teachers and schools assess learning outcomes more effectively. The insights gained from student performance support teachers in refining instructional strategies and identifying areas for focused improvement.

All Kerala School Magazine Competition
The Confederation of Kerala Sahodaya Complexes organizes the All Kerala Best School Magazine Award as a platform to celebrate creativity, expression, and collaboration in schools across the state. The process begins at the Sahodaya level, where individual Sahodayas conduct competitions within their member schools. This allows schools to showcase their literary, artistic, and journalistic talents while fostering healthy competition in a familiar and supportive environment. Selected school magazines from each Sahodaya are then forwarded to the state-level competition, where they are evaluated by expert panels. This two-tier process not only encourages schools to maintain high standards in their publications but also provides recognition at both local and state levels. Students gain invaluable experience in content creation, teamwork, and project management. A school magazine helps students develop writing skills, artistic sensibilities, and an appreciation for deadlines and collaborative effort.
